The problem
Nothing is missing. It is just late, and nobody can say by how much.
Almost no Nigerian business loses funds dramatically. It loses them in the gap between doing the work and being paid for it, and in the small purchases that were genuinely necessary but never made it into a record anyone can check.
None of it shows up as a loss. It shows up as a month that was tighter than it should have been, a supplier chased twice because nobody knew the first payment went out, and a tax filing rebuilt from bank statements because nothing was captured in a usable shape at the time.
The invoice nobody followed up.
It went out, it was never queried, and it was also never paid. Chasing a client you want to keep is uncomfortable, so it slips, and a week becomes a month.
The payment that matches nothing.
A transfer lands with a reference nobody recognises, for an amount that is not quite any invoice. It sits as a credit until someone has an afternoon to work it out.
The bill that stayed a photograph.
The supplier invoice is an image in a chat thread. Retyping it is the only way it becomes a record, so most of the time it does not become one.
The purchase approved by phone call.
Someone needed it today and someone senior said yes. The payment went out, the work continued, and the approval exists only in two people's memory.
The budget that was already spent.
A department, a site or a project had a number attached to it. By the time anyone compared the number to reality, reality had won.
The filing assembled from scratch.
VAT season means rebuilding the period from statements, because nothing was recorded in a filing-ready form while it was happening.
The platform
Six things Billif does, end to end.
Not a feature list. Six jobs that together cover the funds coming in, the funds going out, and knowing where you stand while it happens.

AI throughout
The document files itself before you open it.
Most finance software gives you somewhere to type. Billif reads the bill, pulls out the vendor, the amount and the due date, and files it as a payable before anyone has touched a keyboard.
Your own Billif mailbox
Every business gets an address. Forward a vendor bill to it, or have suppliers send there directly, and it arrives inside Billif rather than in somebody's inbox.
Invoices read by OCR
The document is read on arrival. Vendor, amount, line items and due date are extracted and become a payable, without anyone retyping it.
Receipts categorised on capture
Staff photograph a receipt and it is categorised automatically, so the expense is coded before it ever reaches an approver.
Ask AI
Ask a question about your own numbers and get an answer from live records, rather than opening a report and working it out yourself.

From an email to a paid bill, without retyping it.
The same five steps every time, whether it is one bill a week or two hundred.
- 01
It arrives
A supplier emails your Billif address, or a staff member forwards the photo.
- 02
It is read
OCR pulls out the vendor, the amount, the line items and the due date.
- 03
It becomes a payable
A record with a due date, sitting in the queue with everything else owed.
- 04
Someone approves it
Your policy decides who signs off before anything can leave.
- 05
It gets paid
Paid from your Billif wallet, or from your own bank and recorded against the bill, with the VAT captured either way.
The mandate is here. Be ready, not scrambling.
Mandatory NRS e-invoicing is being phased in by business size, with enforcement running from 2026 to 2028.
Paper and Excel will not pass.
Moving to clean digital invoicing now means you are not starting from scratch when your phase begins.
Billif is working towards accreditation as an NRS e-invoicing service provider.
Digital from the start
Invoices are already structured data, so there is no migration scramble later.
Rolling out 2026–27
The phase-in runs by business size. Starting early is the cheap version of complying.
Use cases
Built for how your industry actually bills.
A school and a haulage company both wait to get paid, but they wait in completely different ways. Start from the one that looks like your week.
Funds move on rails you can check
Collections and payouts run through a certified payment provider, and nothing leaves the business without a record of who approved it.
Processed by a certified payment provider
Card and transfer collections and payouts run through a PCI DSS certified payment provider. Billif never stores raw card data.
Business verification
Accounts go through KYC verification before they can collect or move funds.
Encrypted records
Invoices, receipts and payment records are stored encrypted, with a full audit trail of who approved what.
Approvals before funds move
Payouts require OTP verification, and approval rules apply before a payment can leave the business.
Customers
A word from a customer.
